"The next painting depicts two women, these are sisters, their name was Gużyńcówny, they lived in Roczyny below today's church, they were, as she said, old maids, why did I notice that they were old maids? We are talking about the times before World War I, that is, the times when an unmarried woman was ignored by the environment, they were lucky enough that there were two of them, they lived together below today's church in Roczyny and often – twice a week – of course they walked barefoot, as I said, to the forest in the foothills and again the same thing, they had to have a permit from the forester, from the gamekeeper to be able to collect brushwood.
